I’m Shanna and welcome to my blog!

I started this blog in the winter of 2011, after I moved to Seattle. Originally it was designed as a way to practice and improve my writing and to learn more about my new city. It has evolved over the years into what you see now.

When I first started blogging, I posted sporadically. I didn’t know exactly what voice I wanted my blog to have and I spent a lot of time stalking other writer’s blogs, wishing I had their ideas for blog posts, their photography skills, and wondering how they got so many followers. In the latter half of 2015, I decided to just start writing and posting and hope that someone would read and like what I write.

I’ve lived in many different areas of the country, including southern California, Boston, and Washington, D.C. I’ve been settled in Seattle for a few years now and Seattle is definitely my favorite place to live so far.

I like listening to podcasts and watching Project Runway, Pride and Prejudice, and Jeopardy! I enjoy writing about living in Seattle, thrifting, and grilled cheese, to name a few.

And of course books!

I love to read. Books have been my constant since as long as I can remember. I’ve shown up at school and work, many times, overtired because I stayed up reading late into the night.

Books make me happy. They make me smile, they make me cry, they make me wonder. I won’t be able to read ALL the books, but I sure can try.
