Wildfire is the final book in the Hidden Legacy trilogy. The book takes place after the events of White Hot. Nevada and Rogan are a couple and are trying to figure out who the ringleader is in the ongoing conspiracy to destroy the magical Houses. Meanwhile, Nevada’s grandmother shows up, trying to take control of Nevada and her sisters. Nevada and her family decide to petition to become their own House which would give them immunity from their grandmother for three years. The catch is that Nevada’s sisters and cousins will have to undergo trials to prove their magic which means that everyone will know about the magic they wield. To further complicate things, Rogan’s beautiful ex-fiance shows up pleading with Nevada to find her missing husband.
This book is filled with witty banter and kick-ass females. I loved that Nevada could fight her own battles but wasn’t afraid to work with Rogan when needed. The two have their issues some times, but I thought that they handled those issues with maturity and civility. I liked that Nevada trusted Rogan with his ex-fiance and that the whole “ex with an agenda” wasn’t a big plot device.
Wildfire wraps up the storyline involving Nevada and Rogan. However, Wildfire is not the end of the Hidden Legacy series. There are a lot of unanswered questions that will presumably be addressed in the next trilogy in the series. We still don’t know who is the mastermind behind the conspiracy (although there is a huge hint at the end of the book). We don’t know how Rogan’s cousin (first seen in Burn For Me) fits in with everything. We think everything is wrapped up with Nevada’s grandmother but I highly suspect that it is not.
All the characters in these books are great and I would be friends with any of them. Everyone is smart and thinks before they act. They all have layers and depth and I’m glad we got to find out what everyone’s magical talent is. I especially liked the way Nevada’s sisters’, Catalina and Arabella, magical gifts were displayed – they are both very deadly and powerful but there was a lot of humor involved with their magic.
This book is a good ending to the trilogy of Nevada and Mad Rogan. It leaves the main mystery still unsolved which will be continued in the next trilogy following Nevada’s sister Catalina.
