How is it already the end of January? Seriously, where did the month go? January has no business being over since I just put away my Christmas decorations last weekend. My month has been fairly busy, at least it seems so, and so far this year has been going well. I’ve got my goals planned out and I am hoping to really make progress on them this year. Here is my monthly wrap-up of some of the things I’ve been up to in January.
Where I’m traveling:
Over the MLK holiday weekend, my friend and I took a trip down to Ocean Shores. It was so much fun! We went to the local coffee shop, watched movies, ate tacos and lots of popcorn, and met the most adorable dog named Kevin. The Airbnb we stayed at was super cute. It was mermaid and crab-themed so there were lots of mermaids, crabs, and seashell decorations all around. I also got lots of reading in. We were able to go down to the beach when we got there on Friday but unfortunately, the beach was closed on Saturday because of the tsunami warning. That was quite a shock to wake up to! But we made it work and had a great weekend.
What I’m buying:
After I watched Brazen, I really wanted to read the book. But I guess a lot of other people had the same idea because there was a wait for it at the library. So I decided to order it from my local bookstore, Queen Anne Book Company. I went online and ordered it and when I was checking out, I saw there was an option for gift wrapping. And the gift wrapping was free!!! So, I totally got my book gift wrapped for myself. It was a little gift from me to me and I can’t wait to read it.
What I’m loving:
In 2020 I got a weighted blanket and it may be the best bedding-related item I’ve ever purchased. I love it at all times of the year but especially in the winter because it makes my bed so cozy. Seriously, it is so hard getting out of bed in the morning. It’s great in the winter because, not only is it weighted, but it adds an extra layer of warmth and when we had that cold snap at the end of December, that blanket was amazing. I wish there was a way I could use it year-round but unfortunately during the summer, it’s just a little too warm.
What I’m reading:
I’m making a personal book challenge this year to read more romance novels. I love reading a romance; they just give you all the right feels. And there are so many great books out there. I keep seeing romance books that I want to read and I put them on my to read list and then I never end up reading them. But this year I’m going to make it a priority to read more romance.
That’s all I’ve got for you. See you next month!
