Cozy mysteries are great. I love reading about quirky amateur sleuths who always seem to have the best jobs and amazing friends. I found this quiz today over at Book Riot titled “What Job Would You Have in a Cozy Mystery Novel?” I totally took the quiz.
The answer was: Family Restaurant Owner.
Not gonna lie, that is not my first choice of job. I love my family but I don’t think I could work with them.
So, I took the quiz again and changed two of my answers.
This time the answer was: Mystery Bookstore Owner. That’s more like it! I could sell mysteries to people while solving mysteries in my spare time.
Some of my favorite cozy mystery professions are:
- bookstore owner
- baker/bakery owner
- knitting store owner
- grilled cheese restaurant owner (because I love grilled cheese!)
Hmm, these jobs all involve owning your own business. I guess you have to be the owner, in order to take time off to solve the mysteries. I’m not sure a boss would be happy if their employee was constantly running in and out of their job, searching for clues. But if you’re the boss, you can do whatever you want.
What would be your ideal job if you were in a cozy mystery?

🤔 Maybe being the owner of a flower/garden store. And if not the owner, maybe work at one. So when I go out to make deliveries, I would also have a little time to do some snooping. Here’s to not getting fired. 😉
Oh that would be a great job!.You would always have a reason to go out and drive around to look for clues!
