Happy New Year’s Eve! We made it to the end of another year. This month has been pretty hectic. I wrote a lot on this blog for blogmas, however, I missed the last five days and didn’t post anything from 12/20 to 12/25. Here’s what happened: I went home to see my family and spent time with them instead of blogging. I had planned to get in some writing time but it didn’t end up happening. I did watch a lot of Hallmark Channel movies and of course, my favorite Christmas movie White Christmas. While I was still in Seattle, I went to the Seattle Christmas Market (which was a bit of a letdown) and I also walked around and saw some beautiful holiday lights.
Here is my monthly wrap-up of some of the other things I was up to in the month of December.
What I’m doing right now:
I’m sitting on my couch, just finishing up watching the last episode of Slow Horses. I’m anticipating a lazy evening, watching the New Year’s celebrations on TV. I am not big on crowds so something that definitely does not appeal to me is going out on New Year’s Eve. Just thinking about being around all those people is making my skin crawl. I would much rather be at home where I don’t have to worry about what the weather is going to do or where I’m going to stand or who I’m going to have to make small talk with. I can just sit on the couch and relax and watch everything on television.
What I’m watching:
I finished watching the latest season of Slow Horses on AppleTV+. I can’t say enough great things about this show – it really doesn’t get the acclaim it deserves. I don’t understand why more people aren’t talking about it. Gary Oldman is fantastic and I would watch just about anything he is in. I thought this season (Season 3) was better than Season 2 and I love the way the characters are developing. I am also loving Kristin Scott-Thomas’s style in the show. Whoever is dressing her is doing a great job and I don’t know if she is wearing a wig or not, but her hair is amazing.
What I’m reading:
Normally, during December, I like to read a bunch of holiday-themed books. They are the best thing to get in the Christmas spirit. So, remember how I said I needed to read a bunch of books this month? Well, that didn’t exactly happen because I had the brilliant idea to knit an item for one of my Christmas presents. Needless to say, it took a lot more time than I expected and instead of spending a lot of time reading, I spent a lot of time knitting. I am super bummed that I didn’t get to finish all my holiday reads but I’m going to get to them in January.
See you next month!
