This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is Bookish Discoveries I Made in 2025. I fully intended to participate until I realized I only had five items on my list. Can you still join Top Ten Tuesday with only five things? I’m honestly not sure, but instead of forcing it, I decided to do my own version and call it 5 Bookish Discoveries from 2025.
Here are my 5 Bookish Discoveries from 2025:
1. Silent Book Club.
My friends and I started attending the Silent Book Club reading party in Edmonds, and it has quickly become one of my favorite monthly traditions. It’s held on the third Wednesday of the month at Leftcraft. You bring your book, sit down in the restaurant, and read quietly for an hour.
It is so much fun. I love being surrounded by other people who are reading and genuinely love books. I’ve met some wonderful new bookish people, which is always a delight. Plus, the food is pretty good, so it’s also a great excuse to enjoy a meal out.
2. My New Book Club.
My old book club kind of disbanded, and we don’t really meet to talk about books anymore. Thankfully, one of my friends had the idea to start a new book club, and I was lucky enough to join.
There are only three of us, and it is just the perfect size. We’re always on the same page when it comes to picking what to read. There’s no squabbling and no reluctant reads. And since we all love talking about books, our meetups are filled with lots of enthusiastic, bookish conversation.
3. Starting a Reading Journal.
I started a reading journal last year, and it was so much fun that I’m definitely continuing it this year. I love statistics and writing things down, so tracking my reading and seeing everything laid out on paper really scratches that organizational itch. I loved looking through it at the end of the year to reflect on my reading life.
4. A New-to-Me Author.
One of my favorite reads of 2025 was Cecilia Edward’s debut novel, An Ancient Witch’s Guide to Modern Dating. This book was delightful, funny, and an absolute joy to read. I’ve officially added this author to my “must watch for future releases” list, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next.
5. A Riverbank Knitting Mystery Series.
This series combines two of my favorite things: cozy mysteries and knitting. Naturally, it was love at first read. I’m so glad I discovered this series last year, though I only wish there were more books. Three is simply not enough!

I love the idea of a silent book club. I’ll have to see if there is one near me!
It’s so much fun! I’ve met so many book people there.
