The mornings are chilly and crisp and the weatherman has been forecasting snow for some parts of our region. I’ve been on a months long search for my gloves and I’ve been burning candles, getting that holiday smell of gingerbread and sugar cookies. I’m pulling blankets out of storage and getting my winter coats out – I’m starting to hunker down for winter.
And best of all, it’s time for the holidays. I’m not going to lie – I’ve been watching Christmas movies and listening to Christmas music and reading Christmas themed books since the beginning of November. I think everyone knows how much I love Christmas.
But now it’s official.
And I am in full holiday mode.
Santa Lane is open at Nordstrom and Christmas lights are everywhere. The downtown tree is lit and you can’t go into any store without hearing Christmas music.
With the tragedies going on in our world, this makes the holidays all the more special. It’s important to take pleasure in the little things – Christmas lights, twinkling stars, family and friends – and I fully intend to do so.
