Sadie Fuller is a 46-year-old divorced mom who makes a living writing erotic romance novels. Her current work in progress, Stolen Secrets, tells the story of billionaire Aidan Hathaway and the woman he falls in love with, Lily. One day, while out running errands, Sadie comes across a mysterious man who seems to have no memory. Sadie realizes the man is the exact image of her latest hero and comes to realize that Aidan Hathaway has come to life. Sadie now has to help Aidan figure out who and where he is.
This was an entertaining and lighthearted book. I thought the plot was fun and different and I was excited to see where the author took the story. I’m always reading about authors who say that their characters come to life while writing – I thought this novel was an interesting take on that idea.
The book took a while to get going and I did think the main characters were not really likable in the beginning. I got a little tired of Sadie going on and on about how fat and old and ugly she felt (she’s only 46!). In the manuscript Stolen Secrets, Aidan is a typical rich billionaire guy who gets what he wants. However, as the story went on, the characters grew on me and I liked them more and more.
There was humor, magic, and romance. The side characters were entertaining and while the book did not end like I was expecting, I still had fun reading it.
