We made it to March everyone! February may have been a short month but I’ve been super busy with work, which is why this post is a couple of days late. Here is my monthly wrap up of some of the things I’ve watched, eaten or drank, or just loved for the month of February
What I’m watching:
I finally watched the first season of The Witcher series on Netflix. I really liked this show. I thought it was fun and I was entertained while watching it. I am glad that I read the first book in the series, The Last Wish, because a lot of the episodes were based on events in the book. I thought Henry Cavill did a great job being serious and broody and I thought his sidekick Jaskier provided just the right comic relief. Is The Witcher as good as Game of Thrones? Probably not. But the show has room to grow and get better since it’s coming back for another season next year. I just have to make sure I read more of the series before then.
What I’m eating:
I’ve been trying to take my lunch to work. This is very difficult. Mainly because I forget to meal prep or I forget to buy what I need from the store. (I’m noticing a pattern of forgetfulness here) But it’s really expensive to buy lunch every day and as much as I love salad, I just can’t eat a salad every day. I also get decision fatigue where I just don’t want to decide where to go to eat.
So I’ve been trying to make some stuff at home for lunch. Mainly I make pasta because that’s easy to make and reheat. Plus, pasta is one of those dishes that is better as leftovers so it works really well when I make a large batch and then have food for the next few days. Also, even though it reminds of elementary school lunch, I really do like to bring a sandwich to eat. I’m hoping to find some more recipes of good lunch stuff so that I can expand my repertoire.
What I’m loving:
I bought myself some flowers recently, just some nice purple flowers from the grocery store. I love how just a simple thing can brighten up my apartment and make me smile whenever I see them. As one of my friends recently told me, buying flowers for yourself is such.a great act of self-care and I have to say I agree with her.
I always think about buying flowers when I go to the grocery store or to Trader Joe’s but I somehow manage to talk myself out of it. I think I tell myself that the flowers are too expensive and that they’ll just die soon. But the flowers I picked up were only $6 and they’ve lasted more than a few days. Considering that I spend about $6 on a latte from Starbucks and that gets consumed in less than an hour, these flowers are a great deal!
See you next month!
