What a wild and crazy month this has been and I fear it’s not going to get better soon. I definitely did not think that when I sat down to wrap up this month that I would be working from home and social distancing and having virtual happy hours with friends. Here is my monthly wrap up of some of the things I’ve watched, eaten or drank, or just loved for the month of March
What I’m watching:
I recently signed up for CBS All Access so that I could watch Star Trek: Picard. I’ve said it before but I was glued to the television in high school watching Star Trek: The Next Generation. Jean-Luc Picard is my favorite Star Trek captain and Sir Patrick Stewart is outstanding. I adore him.
The first season of Picard just ended so all the episodes are available to watch one after the other and I totally binge-watched it. I think I watched all the episodes in one weekend. I thought it was a good and entertaining season. I liked how characters from previous Star Trek shows made an appearance – maybe next season there will be more! I especially enjoyed all of the emergency holograms that the pilot of the ship that Picard hires programmed and how they would just pop up at random times.
What I’m eating:
The question is not what I am eating but rather what I am not eating. Like a lot of people, I’ve been baking a lot this month. I’ve made brownies (multiple pans), banana bread, chocolate chip muffins, and of course, regular bread (like so many people). I don’t know if it’s because I’m working from home or what is fueling my baking frenzy. But I am enjoying it. One of the good things about social distancing is that I don’t have to share my baked goods with anyone.
What I’m loving:
I am loving the little things – I’m loving my daily walks in the fresh air. I’m loving video chatting with friends that I haven’t talked to in a while. Since I have more free time right now, I’m loving discovering new hobbies. I am particularly loving the outpouring of support for all the medical workers and anyone classified as an essential worker who has to interact with the public daily. I think that even though there is a lot going on right now, there’s a lot of good thoughts and feelings in the world as well.
Stay well and see you next month!
