I had a lot of thoughts running through my head as I sat down to write this post. There are protests and demonstrations going on in Seattle and in many other cities. As we continue to stay at home and social distance, I wonder what life will be like when this pandemic is over. I have a lot of questions about what the future holds. But right now, I’m going to think about some things that made me happy this month. Here is my monthly wrap up of some of the things I’ve watched, eaten or drank, or just loved for the month of May.
What I’m watching:
Over the past few months, I’ve slowly been watching The Great British Baking Show (known as The Great British Bake Off in the UK) and I’ve managed to watch all the seasons that are available on Netflix. I adore this show. Every episode I learn something new which shows me just how much I don’t know about baking, especially British baking (I still don’t quite understand what a sponge is and how that is different from a cake). The contestants on this show constantly blow me away. They are supposed to be “amateur” bakers but the creations that they can bake are spectacular!
What I’m eating:
Last month, I told you that one of my favorite snacks is sunflower seeds. Another of my favorite snacks is Cheez-Its. I usually always buy Cheez-Its when I go to the grocery store. I don’t know what ingredients are in this cheezy cracker but I love them. They are so addictive and I can just sit and eat them out of the box until I’ve consumed them all. Cheez-Its come in a lot of different flavors but the original is still my favorite. Recently, Sunshine came out with an Extra Toasty version which, in my opinion, is genius. The Extra Toasty version is basically burnt Cheez-Its. Who doesn’t love a burnt Cheez-It? I highly recommend you go out and buy some Cheez-Its.
What I’m loving:
I am still loving my long walks. I try to go on a walk every day, to get out of my apartment and to get some exercise. I love walking – in my opinion, it is one of the easiest ways to move your body. You can walk slow, you can walk fast, you can sightsee and take pictures. I like to listen to podcasts while I’m on my walks. They make the time go by so much faster!
I try to go for a walk every day and I try to walk for at least an hour. One of my favorite routes is to walk along the waterfront on Elliott Bay and through Olympic Sculpture Park. There’s just something about walking along the water that is so calming and peaceful. I feel like no matter what time of the day you go, there’s always something that catches my eye. Whether it’s getting a glimpse of the Seattle Great Wheel or seeing some seals playing in the water, my long walks always make my day.
See you next month!

Cheez its are one of my favorite junk food snacks. Absolutely delicious. – K
