Emilia Nightingale has returned home to the town of Peasebrook after the death of her father. She settles in to run her father’s bookshop, Nightingale Books, but soon finds herself struggling. The shop is in debt and Emilia is tempted to sell to a local property developer. But with support of the patrons of the bookshop, Emilia just might find a way to keep a promise to her father to keep the bookshop open.
This book was lovely. There’s no other way to describe it. It was so heartwarming and I was filled with joy and contentment the entire time I was reading. Reading this book was like sitting in front of a fire on a cold evening; it was cozy and warm and had all the feelings.
Emilia is a great character. But there were so many other interesting characters in this book. It felt like every time a new character was introduced, I couldn’t wait to see how they interacted with everyone else. There are multiple storylines at play here and you can’t help get caught up in everyone’s lives.
There is some romance, there is some grief, and there are some secrets between the residents of Peasebrook. This is a light and easy read with all the storylines wrapped up at the end. I definitely didn’t expect to like this book so much but it sucked me in.
The bookshop, Nightingale Books, sounds amazing! I loved reading about the bookshop and its interior and furnishings. Especially now, since none of the bookstores around where I live are open, it made me really miss going to the bookstore. This is definitely a book for booklovers.

I absolutely adore this book too! Your descriptions are perfect. I read this last Fall? And desperately wished I owned a fireplace. <3
