Seattle had a crazy heat wave last weekend so I guess summer is here. I can’t believe it is already July! Here is my monthly wrap-up of some of the things I’ve watched, eaten or drank, or just loved for the month of June.
What I’m watching:
Honestly, I haven’t been watching a lot of television lately. There have been many days where I don’t even turn my tv on in the evening after work. But I have found myself watching YouTube on the weekends. There are a few fashion history YouTubers that I like to watch as well as YouTubers that talk about goals and organization (I’m always trying to get organized!). What I watch most on YouTube is probably music videos. I love all the music videos from the 90s. I can, and have, watch them for hours.
What I’m eating:
Lately, I’ve been baking bread from the Bread Baking for Beginners book. I’ve made 2 loaves so far this month and they have turned out pretty good! It was definitely a surprise. I did not get on the bread baking bandwagon when the pandemic first began so I feel like I am little to the party here, but I’m trying to make all the loaves in the book. I’m hoping to one day bake my way to sourdough bread.
What I’m loving:
One of the podcasts that I listen to is 99% Invisible. A couple of weeks ago they released an episode called The Clinch which is about the history of romance book covers and how they have changed and evolved over the years. (Romance books covers were called clinch covers because they typically showed a man holding a woman firmly as she looks like she is about to swoon.) As someone who reads romance novels, I thought this episode was fascinating. I really enjoyed the commentary from Sarah MacLean and other popular romance writers. Also, what discussion of clinch covers would not be complete without talking about Fabio.
See you next month!
