Kara Ingalls owns and operates the Meow and Furrever Cat Cafe with her best friend and business partner Charity. Unfortunately, the cafe is not doing so great and Kara needs to make some money fast by the end of the year. Enter marketing guru Ben Reese, who comes up with a plan to save the cafe, and who just might be what Kara needs professionally and personally.
First off, I loved all of the adorable blurbs at the beginning of each chapter talking about the cats available for adoption at the cafe. All the cats had such cute names; they were so fun to read!
I also loved the cat cafe setting in the book. I wanted there to be more scenes at the cafe and more scenes with the cats. This book does take place during the month of December and one of the marketing ideas Ben comes up with is the 25 Days of Catmas. I would have liked to have read more about this idea as I think it is super cute.
The romance between Kara and Ben is sweet. They both have some relationship trauma in their backstories so they are hesitant to get involved with someone new. This book is sort of an opposites attract book since Kara works with and loves cats and Ben is not a cat (or any animal) person, at least at the beginning of the book.
The parts that really annoyed me in this book were anything dealing with Ben’s family or Kara’s friends. The way that Kara’s friends kept trying to set her up with guys and engineering meet-ups, despite the fact that Kara was not interested, bothered me. Yes, she does find love at the end, but the way her friends kept bugging her about dating was annoying. And then I got super irritated at Ben’s family for the way they kept bothering him to make up with his brother. Personally, I thought Ben was justified in cutting his brother out of his life but that’s me.
This was a cute book. It would have been better if there were more cats!
