Last year I used an Ivory Paper Co daily planner. I liked it but there were a lot of things about it that I didn’t love so I decided to go with another planner for 2022. After looking at a lot of planners online, the planner I chose for this year is a Plum Paper planner. I purchased the customizable planner in the daily layout as I’ve realized over the years that I like having a full page for each day so a daily planner works best for me.
Here’s my review of the Plum Paper daily planner:
What I love about this planner:
The paper.
The paper in this planner is amazing. It is thick and feels great. I use a Paper Mate flair pen for almost all my writing and I never saw any bleed through to the other side.
The daily pages.
As I said, I love that you get a whole page for each day, including the weekends. A lot of planners have full days for the weekdays and then the weekends are bunched together on one page. This planner has full pages for every day of the week. It makes sense; just because it is a weekend doesn’t mean I don’t have things to do.
I also like that the daily pages do not have hours written on them. Since I have a separate planner for work and only use this one for personal use, it would basically be blank every day from 9-5 and would waste a lot of space. Because there are no hourly time slots, I can write wherever I want to on the page. I ended up using my planner to track a lot of things, in addition to my daily plans, so it was nice having all that room.
The customizable headings.
I love the ability to customize the headings for each section. I can choose my own categories and am and not limited to what is already in the planner.
All the different choices for the cover.
There are so many colors and designs to choose from for the cover. This year I chose this super cute pink stripe cover and included my name and the year. I like that you can customize the cover with your name and year in your choice of font.
What I don’t love about this planner:
The bulkiness.
Because the planner is a daily planner, it is very thick. In addition to all the daily pages, the planner has a monthly spread for each month as well as additional pages at the beginning and end of each month. It was way too big to tote around in my bag with all my other things. I actually never took my planner to work because I was hauling everything else around and it kind of defeated the purpose of having a planner. A lot of times I would take a photo of my planner for the day so I would remember what I needed to do.
The random box.
The planner page has this weird box on the right-hand side that I’m still trying to figure out what to track/write in there. The box doesn’t have any lines in it so it’s hard for me to write in it because I don’t like having just a freeform space.
Ultimately, I like this planner a lot. I love having a whole planner page for each day as a weekly planner does not have enough room for me. I ordered the same planner for next year, although I got a 6-month version that it is thinner and I can carry it in my bag. I am still tweaking the headings and trying to figure out what works best for me but I am excited to use my new planner at the start of next year!

I’m a day-to-a-page gal too. I’m getting back into my planner/journaling this year after a few years off – I find I’m much more productive with a physical planner as opposed to a virtual one. Plus, the tactile act of organising and adding washi tape and stickers or drawing in small pieces of artwork stimulates my creativity (which is great for writing too.) I’ve looked at different types of planners and paper stock, but some of the nicer ones I liked would have to be sent from overseas and then I hit the $50-100 mark; so it was just a Collins business diary for me this year. I might splurge next year.
Planners are expensive enough; I can’t imagine having to pay overseas shipping on top of the price. I hope your business diary works well for you!
