Ready or not summer is just about here. I am so glad to see the end of May – it was a hectic month for me, work-wise. More than one night I found myself working late and I felt like I had hardly no free time and I was doing something almost every day. I had a lot of plans that did not come to fruition and I didn’t have a lot of time for hardly any of my hobbies.
Last weekend was Memorial Day (for those of us in the U.S.) so it was a long holiday weekend and I was able to catch up on a lot of things that had been pushed to the side. But I am definitely ready for this summer and hope to be not as busy. I didn’t do a lot in May but here are some of the things I got up to this month:
Where I’m drinking:
As summer approaches I’ve been perfecting my iced coffee recipe. I got a new cold brew coffee maker, or I should say a real cold brew coffee maker, rather than my DIY cold brewer that I had been using. I bought some flavored creamer and I quickly realized that there is such a thing as too much creamer in your coffee. That cup of iced coffee was a bit of a fail. Now I am just perfecting my way of transporting my coffee in the morning so I can take it and drink it at work. I take a lot of stuff with me to work in the mornings so carrying a coffee tumbler is kind of a hassle – I prefer to have my hands free when walking down the street. Transporting coffee will be the next challenge to work on in June.
What I’m watching:
I watched the first couple of episodes of Silo on Apple TV+. It’s an interesting show based on a series of books that take place in a future where everyone lives underground in a massive silo hundreds of stories deep. I’m fascinated by how deep this silo runs and how it actually works. Of course, I’m also intrigued by what is outside the silo and I haven’t been able to figure out if there is going to be a twist or not. None of the characters seem to be safe on this show as at least one character has died in every episode (of the ones I’ve watched). I did cheat and read the Wikipedia entry for the book series because I thought it would tell me what happens at the end but it doesn’t really and I’m still a bit confused. I’m going to watch the rest of the episodes as they come out and hopefully I can figure out what happens.
Like I said, May was super busy so I don’t have a lot to say here. Hopefully, June will be less hectic. See you next month!
