You know how there are some authors that you will read anything they write? They are your favorite authors and they can’t write anything wrong. These are the authors that as soon as you hear they have a new book coming out, you will always purchase or borrow it as soon as possible. Maybe you’ve never pre-ordered a book before, but you might pre-order one of theirs.
Here are some of my auto-buy authors:
Nora Roberts. Of course Nora Roberts is #1 on my list. I love just about everything she writes, even her old school stuff written in the 80s.
Emily Henry. Emily Henry is an author who, I might not buy every new book she puts out, but I will definitely make a note that she has a book coming out and will put it on my library holds.
Sarah Morgan Christmas novels. This one is a bit of a niche but in addition to her regular romance novels, Sarah Morgan also publishes Christmas romance novels that come out every holiday season. I always look for them to read during my December holiday reads.
Susanna Kearsley. Her books are on the longish side, but I love the historical and magical aspects they contain. I always learn something new when I read one of her books.
Jessie Mihalik. Jessie Mihalik is a new-to-me author and I have devoured the last two series she’s written (Consortium Rebellion and Starlight’s Shadow). She has definitely become an auto-buy author for me.
Blake Crouch. I’m always interested when I hear a new Blake Crouch book is coming out and I wonder what new science fiction thing he’s thought up now.
J.S. Dewes. J.S. Dewes has only published three books but I’ve read them all and enjoyed them and am excited to see what she publishes next.
Heather Webber. Another new-to-me author but I’ve loved what books by her I have read and I will definitely give any book by her a second look.
Barbara Freethy. I love her Off the Grid FBI series and I periodically check in to see if she has written the next book in the series so I can buy it as soon as possible.
Erik Larson. Erik Larson writes such great non-fiction, you feel like you are reading a fiction novel when you read it.
I started to compile my own list to share here… then it turned out to be a very long list! I didn’t realise how many authors I love – no wonder I’m broke all the time and have a massive pile of unread books. *awkward*
Haha! There are so many great authors out there – these were just the first to come to mind!
