When Carly Hale volunteers to cater a friend’s bridal shower, she doesn’t expect the main event to be when the groom is found dead at the bottom of the stairs. When a member of the bridal party is accused of murder, Carly puts her sleuthing skills to the test to find out who the real killer is.
Cheddar Late Than Dead is the third book in the Grilled Cheese Mystery series. This cozy mystery series follows Carly Hale, owner of Carly’s Grilled Cheese Eatery, who solves murders in the small town of Balsam Dell. I am really enjoying this series and this book did not disappoint. Even though it is the third book in the series, I think this book could be read as a standalone.
I love all the scenes that take place in the restaurant, especially when Carly is talking about her grilled cheese sandwiches and all their punny names. You all know I love a good pun. The side characters are entertaining and I like that we learn a little bit more about them in each book.
Although, I have to confess – I love grilled cheese and I love doughnuts but I’m not sure I would love the doughnut grilled cheeses that Carly makes for the bridal shower. If anyone out there has tried this delicacy, please let me know if they are tasty or not.

Doughnut grilled cheeses? Um… I’d try one to be polite, I suppose.
