Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s topic is Books on My Fall To Read List. The days are getting shorter which means it’s time to stay in and read. I want to read spooky books and cozy mysteries and romance and fantasy – just all the books!
Here are the top ten books on my fall to-read list:
The Shadowy Horses by Susanna Kearsley. I started reading this book months ago and then put it down to read some library books. I might have to start over from the beginning but I am determined to finish it this fall.
The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston. The Dead Romantics was one of my favorite books from last year and I’m excited to read this book about a woman who falls in love with a man who is living seven years in the past.
The Shadow Docket by Stephen Vladeck. Because I’m already mad at the Supreme Court, why not read a book about how, in the past decade, the Court has expanded its use of the shadow docket to issue major decisions without any oral arguments.
You Just Need to Lose Weight by Aubrey Gordon. I love listening to Aubrey Gordon on the Maintenance Phase podcast and I can’t wait to read this book that discusses how BMI is completely made up as well as the myths about fatness and fat people.
The Last One by Will Dean. This book looks spooky and I’m looking forward to reading it.
Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros. Yup, I got sucked into the world of dragons and I loved Fourth Wing. I’m already on the hold list at the library for this book that comes out on November 7.
Fatal Betrayal by Barbara Freethy. This is the 12th book in her Off the Grid: FBI series. I’ve read every book in this series and liked them all so I need to get caught up before the 13th book comes out!
Case of the Bleus by Korina Moss. I figure since it’s fall, what could be more perfect than reading a cozy mystery. This book is the next in the Cheese Shop Mystery series.
Survive the Night by Riley Sager. Also, since it’s fall, I thought it would be appropriate to read a thriller. This one has been on my to-be-read list for a while now.
Spook Street by Mick Herron. I’m slowly making my way through the Slough House series, hoping that Apple TV+ doesn’t cancel this show because I love watching the characters come to life on the screen.

The Shadow Docket sounds like a great read. And, yeah, I’m not happy with the Supreme Court either.
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
Right? Like I know I’ll probably get so angry reading it, but it will also be so interesting.
