Happy Halloween! Can you believe that there are only two months left in this year? There are only 8 weekends until Christmas so if you haven’t started shopping, you should get on it because December will be here before we know it.
I feel like all of a sudden the temperature has dropped and it’s been getting colder in the mornings. Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend and we turn our clocks back on Saturday night, so it will be even colder in the mornings. Fall is definitely here and winter is right around the corner.
Here is my monthly wrap-up of some of the things I was up to in October.
What I’m watching:
It was just released but I’ve already watched Martha, the Martha Stewart documentary, on Netflix. I’m a huge fan of Martha Stewart and I love how she built her brand from the ground up. She is the ultimate brand icon. The documentary is about 2 hours and it basically goes through Martha’s whole life. I learned a couple of things about her that I didn’t know and I really enjoyed seeing all the old photos. Since the documentary was only 2 hours and they had to pack everything into the allotted time, they didn’t really have the ability to go in-depth into everything and I wish that some of the things were talked about more. I would have liked to learn more about Martha’s magazine and more about the start of her company. Still, I was very entertained!
What I’m eating:
Last weekend I got out my Dutch oven and made some chili. Chili is one of those comfort foods that is perfect to eat when you want to be cozy and warm. Like I said, it’s starting to get colder and I just want to eat all the soups and stews.
What I’m loving:
One of the things I love most about the Halloween season is seeing all the dogs and cats in costumes. I don’t have any pets but I love seeing other people’s photos and videos of theirs. They make me laugh so much! Every time I think I see the cutest costume, another one comes along that is even cuter. Really, people should dress up their pets all year round.
See you next month!
