Happy April Fools’ Day! Do people still play jokes on other people, or is that more of a children/elementary school thing? I remember everyone telling jokes on the playground. I guess all the jokes now are on social media. I looked but I didn’t see any in the few minutes I scrolled today.
Here is my monthly wrap-up of some of the things I was up to in March.
What I’m watching:
I finished watching Season 2 of Severance on Apple TV+. I thought this was an interesting show. I didn’t love it, though. I see and read about people raving about the show, and I don’t get the hype. Personally, I thought there were a couple of episodes that were really boring, and in a show that only has 10 episodes or so a season there shouldn’t be any boring episodes. I just thought it was weird (and not in a good way), and I still have too many questions, although I think that is part of the appeal of the show. There were so many things that didn’t make sense to me but I didn’t care enough to dig deeper into them. I probably would have stopped watching the show sometime in the first season if not for one of my coworkers who loved it and told me I should watch it. I doubt I’ll watch the next season, whenever it comes out.
What I’m eating:
I made this Lemon Pepper Chicken and Lemon Parsley Pasta (both from Budget Bytes) and they were so delicious. I did dice up my chicken before I cooked it so I could mix it in with the pasta instead of having a whole chicken breast. The chicken and pasta combined had a lot of lemon in it but it was perfect. I probably could have done without the parsley, and if I make this dish again I will likely omit it – I didn’t really feel like it added anything to the meal. I used angel hair pasta and broke the pasta in half before I cooked it (yes I know that is crazy-talk) but I prefer to break my pasta into smaller pieces before I cook it because then I don’t have to worry about long strings of pasta hanging from my fork when I’m trying to eat.
What I’m loving:
March is also my birthday month. I picked up my free birthday Starbucks drink on the day of my birthday and then I also picked up a couple of other birthday freebies towards the end of the month. I didn’t grab as many freebies as I did last year (check out all my birthday freebies!) but I still enjoy that free Starbucks. I always get a venti caramel frappuccino and it makes my day!
See you next month!
