The librarian at the Hatori Community House has a knack for recommending books that are just what a person needs, whether they know it or not. When a patron finds themselves in front of her desk, answering her question of what are they looking for, they inevitably leave with a book that appears random but ends up changing their life.
This book is a series of short stories in which each person’s life is changed because of a book they read from the library. The five people we meet are looking for purpose or a new direction in life and end up finding it through the books they read from the library.
I liked this book so much. I thought it was super cute and so uplifting. There was a feeling of calmness and gentleness throughout the book. The stories were a bit formulaic, but I was pleasantly surprised by how each one unfolded.
Each chapter had teachable moments with such a charming story. The characters were engaging, and I liked how they were all a little bit intertwined with one another.
The moral of this book is that libraries are great!
