Every December, I immerse myself in the holiday season by exclusively reading holiday books. It’s a little bit of self-care that I indulge in. During the holiday months, I just want to be happy and have all the feelings, and what better way than to read holiday romance books? Usually I am inundated with books, and I find it hard to whittle down my tbr list. However, this year was a little challenging. I don’t know if I was looking in the wrong places, but it felt like there was a drought of holiday books.
I have eight books on my December tbr list – six physical books and two books to read on my Kindle. Since I travel in December, I like to have something on my Kindle to read so that I’m not hauling a suitcase full of books everywhere (but why does a suitcase full of books sound so amazing?).
Here is my December 2025 tbr list:
1. Yours For the Season by Emily Stone. You know I love a fake dating romance!
2. I’ll Be Home for Christmas by Jenny Bayliss. The holiday season would not be complete without a Jenny Bayliss book.
3. Highland Hearts Holiday Bookshop by Tricia O’Malley. This book combines bookstores and the holidays – two of my favorite things!
4. A Merry Little Lie by Sarah Morgan. Sarah Morgan writes such great holiday romances centered around family and friends. I can’t wait to read this one.
5. Romance and Peppermint Lattes by Debbie Macomber. I didn’t realize this book was two previously published works combined into one book. Also, even though the book’s title includes “Peppermint Lattes” (which is such a winter treat), I’m not sure that these stories are holiday romances. But I love a Debbie Macomber book, so I’m sure I’ll love this one.
6. Three Holidays and a Wedding by Uzma Jalauddin and Marissa Stapley. Stranded travelers!
7. Christmas at the Comfort Food Cafe by Debbie Johnson. This book sounds like a Hallmark movie in book form.
8. 12 Ways to Kill Your Family at Christmas by Natasha Bache. I wanted to include a mystery novel in my holiday reads, and this one sounded perfect.

Looks like a fun stack of holiday books! I have a pile of holiday puzzles ready to go. I hadn’t thought of focusing on holiday books as well, but it sounds really cozy!
Holiday puzzles sound so fun!!
