Last weekend I ventured out to the Washington Park Arboretum. The Arboretum is a 230-acre park that borders the shore of Lake Washington. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy within the park – you can hike, go on a canoe or kayak ride, enjoy a picnic, or just take in the abundant nature, to name a few. The arboretum provides an escape from the city into the rural wilderness and is a perfect backdrop for the lovely Seattle summer weather.
I think it was too late in the season to catch most of the flowers in bloom, but there were plenty of trees and ferns to be seen…
and beautiful views of Lake Washington…
and ducks swimming up to the shore hoping to grab a nibble…
while a turtle preened in the sun.
