Hi all! This is your friendly reminder that April is National Grilled Cheese Month.
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know that I love grilled cheese (see my posts here, here, here, and here). It’s my go-to meal when I’m looking for comfort food or when I’m short on time or when nothing else sounds good. I pretty much make it all the time.
I love experimenting with different cheeses and fillings. When I’m feeling fancy, I like to make grilled cheese with bakery bread and gourmet cheese. I love adding avocado or pepperoni to my cheese creations (it’s like a pizza sandwich!). I recently made a bacon grilled cheese. It was so good and savory!
You can usually find grilled cheese on just about any restaurant menu. I actually ate some this weekend when I was out and about with my friend Alli. You know you’re eating a good grilled cheese when the bread is all buttery and crispy and the cheese is stringy when you pull the pieces of bread apart.
Grilled cheese is great to be eaten at any time of the year. In the cold months, you can eat it with soup. In the warmer months, it’s great with some chips on the side. And of course, it’s always good with French fries!
