September seems to have flown by and I can’t believe it’s already over. Where did the month go? Just a couple of weeks ago it was hot and summery and now I’ve put my weighted blanket back on my bed to luxuriate under. I was super excited for school to start – not because I have kids but because I love buying school supplies! I love buying all the notebooks and pens and planners. They are some of my favorite things to shop for. Here is my monthly wrap-up of some of the other things I was up to in the month of September.
What I’m watching:
The Great British Baking Show is back on Netflix! I love this show. I love watching the bakers each week, hanging out in the tent and baking up things I’ve never heard of. I’ve only watched two episodes so far but it seems like this season’s crop of bakers is exceptionally good. There haven’t really been any fails or mishaps yet but we’ll see what happens as the show goes on. One of the things I like about this show is that everyone is so nice. If someone needs help moving their cake to the cake plate, the other contestants will help them out. If someone is rushing at the end and needs help decorating their bakes, people will help! There are not really any villains or horrible people and it is a nice change from other reality shows.
What I’m eating:
I recently rediscovered my love of fig newtons. The higher-ups at my office, I suspect in an attempt to incentivize people to come into the office, have supplied snacks in all of our office kitchens and one of those snacks are fig newtons. Okay, they are not Fig Newton brand but they are pretty good. Plus, they come in flavors other than fig, like raspberry and peach apricot. I had forgotten how good these cookies are. I randomly grabbed a package one day, thinking I would give it a try, and loved it. I eat some almost every day I am in the office.
What I’m loving:
I am loving hanging out and meeting up with friends. I met up with my book club gals earlier this month and it was great. We chatted, had some yummy snacks, and got caught up with one another. Oh and we also talked about the book! But it was a lot of fun to get together in person with a group of people. I also have a friend that I have a standing Saturday morning coffee date at a local coffee shop. I love getting together with her and gossiping over a cup of coffee and a pastry. Staying in and reading is fun, but it’s also fun to get out and get together with friends.
See you next month!

Coffee dates are so much fun! I’m jealous of your fig newtons.
