When Georgie’s job as a personal assistant is made redundant she returns to her hometown to figure out what she wants to do with her life. While there she comes across her old friendfic diary, stories she wrote with her best friend as a teenager about all the things they were going to accomplish. Georgie realizes she didn’t do any of those things and embarks on a quest to make her way through her wishlist. But she doesn’t count on running into Levi, former town troublemaker and brother of Georgie’s high school crush.
This book was so good! I loved both Georgie and Levi and I’m so happy they found each other. I honestly was not expecting such a thoughtful and heartwarming story. I thought I was going to read a cute and fun book about a girl who goes back to her hometown but this book was so much more. I also have to mention Levi’s dog Hank – Hank was adorable!
The story is told from both Georgie’s and Levi’s points of view which I appreciated. I really liked Levi’s inner monologue and seeing what he was thinking. He’s a bit shy and doesn’t talk much so his point of view told us a lot. Both Georgie and Levi are a bit lost, trying to move forwards in their lives, and they come into each other’s orbit at the right time.
The chemistry between Georgie and Levi was great. They had such a good connection and I thought they really got each other. I loved the idea of two town troublemakers banding together to become better than everyone else thought they would. Both Georgie and Levi deserve good things and I’m so glad they got their happy ending.
I thought that the friendfic and completing the adventures were going to play a larger role but looking back, I think they were in the story the perfect amount. Because it was never really about completing everything on the list but about Georgie rediscovering herself.
The only thing that could have made this book better was if there was more Hank!
