Can you believe the year is halfway over? I am a little flustered that the year is going by so fast and that it’s already July. I try to do a lot of reflecting in July – I need to look at my goals for the year to see how I’m doing and figure out if there are any that need to be updated or changed. I also take this time to think about where I am and what I’m doing.
June was definitely a less busy month than May, which was nice. I didn’t feel so frazzled and I felt like I had more control over my time. Here are some of the things I got up to in June:
What I’m reading:
Although I had more time in June, I didn’t read as much and I couldn’t understand why. But then I finally figured it out – I’ve checked out a few 500+ page books from the library and I’m having a hard time starting them because I know I won’t be able to read them in a couple days. I know they are going to take me a while to read so I’ve been putting them off in favor of reading a regular 250-300 page book. And now these library books are just sitting on a side table. I need to tell myself to just sit down and start reading because the sooner I start, the quicker I will read them. We’ll see what happens in July.
What I’m planning:
The planner that I purchased for this year was a 6-month planner, so it ends today. This means I need to buy a new planner for the months of July to December. I still haven’t stumbled across the perfect planner for me. It seems like a lot of planners have things that I like, but no one planner is able to combine everything I like together. Maybe I need to do more research and look into many more planners (there are so many planners available!). I’ve come to realize the things that I like and don’t like about planners so I’m able to quickly realize if something is not going to work for me, which is good. I fully believe that the planner for me is out there, I just haven’t found it yet. At least for the rest of this year, I’m sticking with the Plum Paper planner, quite similar to the one I used last year.
What I’m watching:
I haven’t been watching a lot of television. I usually just put on YouTube in the evenings and watch the YouTubers that I subscribe to. I don’t know if I’ve ever talked about this but I watch King 5 news every morning while I’m getting ready for work. It’s probably one of the only times a day when I watch network television. I am obsessed with watching the weather. I used to laugh at people who were into the Weather Channel but as I’ve gotten older, I realized that it’s a very addicting channel. Even though the weather doesn’t change too much here in Seattle, I always love tuning in to see what’s going to happen each day.
What I’m loving:
Last weekend my friend organized a reading in the park get-together and I loved it. The weather was perfect and the park we went to was lovely. There was shade for people who wanted to sit in the shade (like me) and there was open area for people who wanted to bask in the sunshine. It was just really nice to be outside, laying on a blanket, reading a book. Hopefully we can do more of those this summer.
See you next month!
