The global G7 Summit is taking place in Edinburgh and Emma Makespeace and her team have received a tip that the Russians are planning a high-profile assassination. Not knowing who is being targeted, Emma will have to go undercover to set a trap for the assassin.
I’ve been on a streak of ‘just okay’ books so I was super excited to get my hands on this book from the library. This is the third book in the Alias Emma series and I really enjoyed the first two, Alias Emma and The Traitor. This book did not disappoint and I loved it as well.
Emma Makespeace is back and this time she has to go undercover and seduce a man to find out what he knows about the Russians staying at his house. Emma is a great character. She’s competent but not perfect; she makes mistakes but these make her so much more believable and she’s not afraid to own up to them.
I really liked the addition of Kate Mackenzie, the Scottish policewoman assigned to partner with Emma and help her navigate the city. I loved seeing her and Emma work together. It was almost like a buddy cop situation. It was fun to see Emma, who is used to working alone and whose last partner turned out to be a traitor, slowly learn to trust and become friends with Kate.
This was another great book from Ava Glass. I am looking forward to the next one in the series.
