We’re heading into some of my favorite months of the year. I love spooky season and the holidays. There’s something about seeing all the leaves change colors and all the decorations that makes me happy. Plus, I love all the twinkly lights! I can’t believe we’re only 3 months out until the new year. What a fast year this has been.
Here is my monthly wrap-up of some of the other things I was up to in September:
Watching Netflix:
I had been waiting for The Thursday Murder Club to come out, and I finally watched it on Netflix. The movie was a great adaptation of the cozy mystery series (with one minor disappointment). The cast was great, and I thought the characters were portrayed brilliantly, especially Elizabeth. Since the movie was only two hours there were a lot of things that had to be cut, which was a bit of a letdown as there were a couple of storylines that I would have liked to see, but there clearly wasn’t enough time to include everything. It made me wish that this movie had been a TV series instead. Additionally, I was not a fan of how the movie ended, as it differed from the book. If they adapt the next book in the series, I’m not sure how it would go. Still, I found the movie super enjoyable! I loved the setting and all the performances from the actors.
Taking a trip to Vancouver:
I hopped on the train last month and took a four-day trip north to Vancouver. It was so much fun! I went on a walking tour, saw all the fish at the aquarium, walked all around Stanley Park, drank lots of coffee, and got so many steps. I hadn’t been to Vancouver in several years, so I had forgotten how big the city is. There are so many skyscraper buildings and interesting architecture. I learned on the tour that the reason a lot of their buildings have so much glass is to reflect the meager sunlight Vancouver gets in the winter. I had a great time, although the next time I visit Vancouver I’ll be sure to stay in a different hotel – my hotel this time was right across the street from the football and soccer stadium, and there was a game two out of the three nights I was there.
Going to another yarn festival:
One of the main reasons I went up to Vancouver was to attend the Knit City Canada Vancouver yarn festival. If you read my wrap-up post from last month, then you know that I love a yarn festival. I love being in the crowds with other knitters and crocheters and seeing what everyone is buying. I love touching all the yarn and finding that one hank that you just have to have. My favorite thing was seeing people leaving the festival with huge tote bags of yarn. They obviously did not have to pack their yarn in a suitcase like I did so they could buy a little more. I ended up picking up two more skeins of yarn and a new project bag.
See you next month!

Your trip sounds like so much fun! I was in Vancouver briefly in 1992, and I am sure it has changed a lot since then!
Thank you! It was a lot of fun!
