new look, same blog.

Hi friends! You may have noticed something a little different around here lately. It’s not your imagination – the blog got a bit of a makeover. 

Now, I wish I could say this redesign was the result of a long, carefully planned creative vision… but honestly? It was a happy little accident. Oops.

Here’s what happened: I’d been daydreaming about a new look for years. The old theme was fine, perfectly nice, even, but it never quite felt like “me.” The other night, I was browsing new templates (as one does at midnight with a bag of Reese’s peanut butter cups and questionable judgment), and I found one that caught my eye.

WordPress used to let you preview a new theme before committing, so I chatted with the AI help to double-check how to do that. It told me, with great confidence, to click “Activate.” I hesitated… but then thought, “What could go wrong?”

Famous last words.

One click later and poof! My old blog layout vanished into the digital ether. I tried everything to bring it back, but alas, that theme has since retired to the great Internet beyond. So, with no way to go back, I decided to move forward.

Many hours and days (and a few snacks) later, here we are – a fresh new space, all dressed up and ready for adventures ahead. I hope you love the new look as much as I do.

You’ll also notice a few new things: I’ve added menu dropdowns at the top of the pages to make finding posts easier. Plus, I linked my Goodreads, in case you’d like to see what I’m reading in real time.

Thank you for being here – truly. I’ve been writing and posting on this blog for almost 14 years. I love writing it and hope to keep writing for many more years.
