It’s the last day of the year, and I can’t believe 2025 is over. This month has flown by in a blur of holidays, shopping, and time spent with family. As much as I’ve enjoyed the month, I’m looking forward to a new year and a fresh start, though I know it’ll take me a while to stop writing 2025 and remember that it’s 2026 now.
Here are some of the things I’ve been up to in December:
What I’m watching:
Besides watching my usual lineup of holiday movies, I managed to squeeze in a couple of Netflix films: KPop Demon Hunters and Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. I thought both were fine overall. KPop Demon Hunters was a fun watch, though I’m not entirely sure what makes it so popular. Maybe I’m just too old to fully get it. I did enjoy seeing Daniel Craig in Wake Up Dead Man, although the longer hair his character sports was a little jarring. This one didn’t quite live up to the other movies in the series for me, but I’ll admit I was multitasking while watching. Perhaps it deserves a rewatch with my full attention.
I’ve also fallen down a delightful YouTube rabbit hole of Nutcracker videos. After seeing The Nutcracker last month, I wanted more, so I turned to YouTube and started watching performances from different ballet companies, along with plenty of other ballet content. And yes, the Nutcracker score has been stuck in my head for weeks now.
What I’m gathering:
I’ve been getting ready for the new year by setting up all my new planners and journals. I love opening up a brand-new planner with clean, untouched pages just waiting to be filled. As usual, I have two planners, one for personal life and one for work, plus a new journal for 2026. I’m also hoping to start a couple of additional journals this year, including a knitting and crochet journal and a book journal.
What I’m listening to:
You know I’m always on the hunt for a good new podcast, and I recently discovered Currently Reading. I’ve been listening for a bit now and am finding it absolutely delightful. Hosted by two bookish friends, the podcast is all about books and reading—which, unsurprisingly, makes it right up my alley.
See you next month!

Totally agreed about the new Knives Out movie and I can’t WAIT to see your new knitting and book journals! You’re inspiring me to get back into scrapbooking. Happy New Years, friend!! 💕
I can’t wait to show you all my journals! I hope you had a great New Years.
I watched Kpop Demon Hunters as well just to see what it was all about. It was cute. Happy New Year!
