Suzanne McBride is preparing for the perfect family Christmas as all three of her adopted daughters are coming home for the holidays. Hannah, a workaholic, Beth, a stay at home mom to two rambunctious little girls, and Posy, who may or may not be falling for the gorgeous renter at her parent’s house, may be sisters but the girls couldn’t be farther apart from one another.
Sarah Morgan is fast becoming a favorite author of mine. I’ve read a number of her books and I’ve enjoyed all of them. She really knows how to write about family and love and The Christmas Sisters does not disappoint.
This book was not what I was expecting. I was expecting a fun holiday read but what I got was so much more. This is a wonderful Christmas story about three sisters coming home to spend Christmas with their family. It was heartwarming and emotional and I have to confess, this book totally made me cry. Tissues are a must if you are going to read this story.
The chapters alternate points of view between the three sisters and Suzanne. I really enjoyed this as I felt we really got to know each character and hear their thoughts. Sarah Morgan does a fantastic job creating complicated and realistic characters and I felt for all of them.
The book is set in the wintery Scottish Highlands, in a small community where everyone knows everyone. It seemed like a magical and magnificent place to spend Christmas.
