This year, I decided to expand my capabilities and embark on little monthly challenges. Some of them are financed-based, some are fitness-based and some are just for fun. I really have no rhyme or reason for the challenges, I just wanted something to focus on for each month.
The challenge:
For April, the challenge was to engage my brain by doing at least one puzzle every day.
The parameters:
I got a couple of puzzle books for Christmas and I realized that I hadn’t really dug into them yet so I wanted to complete at least one puzzle every day. I have a Sudoku puzzle book and Murdle: Volume 1. It didn’t matter what time of day I did the puzzles, or which book I worked out of, but I wanted to get my brain working in a fun and challenging way every day.
How did I do?
This was such a fun challenge! I love Sudoku and making all the numbers match up. I even did the puzzles in ink! There were only a couple of times where I had to scratch out a number. My book has 5 levels of puzzle difficulty: easiest, easy, medium, challenging, and hard. I mainly did the puzzles in easy and medium. Easiest was too easy and hard was too hard (I would definitely need to use a pencil for those!). But I liked the different levels of difficulty because if I only had a few minutes to do a puzzle, I could do a really easy one, or if I had more time I could dive into a harder one.
Murdle was also a lot of fun. Murdle is a murder mystery logic puzzle where you are given clues and must use the power of deduction to solve the mystery. I love these mystery logic puzzles. They also got my brain thinking. Like Sudoku, there are different difficulty levels so depending on how much time you have, you might choose a different difficulty level.
Lessons learned:
Not really any lessons learned here. I just really enjoy puzzles and I need to make time to do more!
I’ll be back next month with a new challenge.
