This year, I decided to expand my capabilities and embark on little monthly challenges. Some of them are financed-based, some are fitness-based and some are just for fun. I really have no rhyme or reason for the challenges, I just wanted something to focus on for each month.
The challenge:
For August, the challenge was to take a picture every day.
The parameters:
I love taking pictures. However, I noticed I hadn’t been taking a lot lately, so I decided to try to take at least one picture every day this month. It didn’t matter where or when I took the picture; it just had to be taken that day.
How did I do?
I think I did great! I managed to take a picture almost every day in August. Honestly, I thought this would be a straightforward and simple challenge, but I found it difficult at times. On the weekends, it was super easy to find things to take pictures of. I was going out, walking around and going to stores, and my eyes were caught by so many things. But I ran into problems during the week. Monday through Friday, I really only go to work and come home. I found myself wondering how many photos of the bus stop I could take. I had to really look for things when I was on my commute and remember to take photos. Sometimes I even got off the bus early so that I could walk a few blocks and look for something to take a picture of. Still, I really enjoyed this challenge.
Lessons learned:
Notice all the beauty around you!
I’ll be back next month with a new challenge.
