november wrap up: thanksgiving cookies and rewatching old favorites.

There’s only one month left in the year, and it starts tomorrow. Honestly, I spent the month of November working a lot and looking forward to and planning for the holidays. It was a pretty chill month, which is exactly what I needed before the rush of December.

Here are some of the things I’ve been up to in November:

Rewatching old favorites.
I’ve been rewatching some favorite television shows, namely Project Runway and The Expanse.

Project Runway – I forgot about so many of the memorable designers and their creations. Season 1 was such a throwback; seeing Heidi’s outfits and how casual she was was wild. I think in multiple episodes she was wearing a tank top and a flippy skirt, something that I highly doubt she would wear now. There were so many things that I forgot about, including Austin Scarlett walking as Jay’s model during the post office outfit challenge, as well as the designer who was asked to leave the show after finding pattern books in his room. And of course, I can’t forget all of Michael Kors’ amazing quotes! I’m currently on Season 5, and it’s just like meeting up with old friends after losing touch.

The Expanse – I just finished Season 2. I keep meaning to rewatch this show, and I finally sat down and started. I’m actually finding it a lot easier to follow the storylines on a second watch. Things make a lot more sense and I’m picking up on a lot of plot that completely went over my head the first time I watched. I think my next adventure will be to read the books the show is based on.

Oreo Thanksgiving cookies.
Did you see the ads for the Oreo Thanksgiving cookies? I saw these and knew I had to get them to take to my friends’ house for Thanksgiving. They were a limited-edition cookie, so I had to order them from the Oreo website, and unfortunately, the only shipping option was FedEx. I ended up paying more for shipping than I did for the cookies. But they got to me, so I guess it worked out.

The Oreos were… interesting. They came wrapped in a cute tin that I am definitely going to use again. Basically, the Oreos were regular Oreos with a flavored coating. There were six different flavors:

• Cranberry Sauce
• Pumpkin Pie
• Turkey & Stuffing
• Creamed Corn
• Sweet Potato
• Caramel Apple Pie

Everyone agreed that the best cookie was the cranberry one, and the worst was the turkey. No surprise there! I’m not going to lie, the turkey Oreo was unappetizing and left a gross aftertaste. Still, it was exciting to do a taste test, and everyone had fun.

I voted!
I turned in my ballot for our local election on November 4. I feel so privileged to live in a country where we can vote for our representatives and for the things that matter to us. I try to vote every time there’s an election (although sometimes I miss the local ones that occur in off years), and I always vote in the presidential election. I’m glad that Washington has mail-in voting and that you can just drop your ballot off at the ballot box, although I do miss going in person to vote.
