september wrap up: another baking show and a pecan crunch oatmilk latte.

Happy October! I can’t believe we’ve hit the double digits months. The mornings are getting chilly, the days are getting longer, and the pumpkins are out! I feel like the past couple of months have just flown by.

Here is my monthly wrap-up of some of the things I was up to in September.

What I’m watching:
I binge-watched all the episodes of the Netflix show Blue Ribbon Baking Championship. It’s like The Great British Baking Show, but the setting is at a state fair. All the contestants are blue ribbon winners at state fairs and the contestants make classic fair food, like fried things on sticks. I really enjoyed watching the contestants bake and see what they came up with. One of the hosts is Sandra Lee and I was stoked to see her return to television (I loved her Semi-Homemade Food show). The other host is Jason Biggs, of American Pie fame, and yes, there are a bunch of pie jokes sprinkled throughout the show.

Speaking of The Great British Baking Show, there are also a couple of shows that just released that I am looking forward to watching in the upcoming month. I’m waiting for a couple more episodes to drop before I start watching so I can binge them. One of them is Slow Horses on Apple TV+. I think I’m going to wait until all the episodes are out on this one so that I can watch it all over the weekend. The other show is The Great British Baking Show. I can’t wait for Bread Week!

What I’m drinking:
Starbucks has a new drink out and I love it. It’s the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte. It is so delicious; it tastes like candy. I especially like the iced version because it comes with a whipped cold foam topping. Every once in a while Starbucks comes out with something new that is actually good and this latte really hits the spot. I’ve been ordering it just about every time I get coffee. Now, will they keep this latte on the menu until the holiday drinks come out? I would love if I could drink this until it’s time to switch over to my other favorite holiday drink at Starbucks, the caramel brûlée latte.
